Lower Limb Orthotics

Lower-limb orthotics provide support to legs, hips, knees, feet, and ankles.

Lower-limb orthotics are designed to provide support to your lower limbs, namely your feet, ankles, knees, and hips for the treatment of various injuries and/or medical conditions. At Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics, we serve the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area with lower-limb orthotics that provide the support you need to be able to heal properly while allowing appropriate range of motion.

We work in conjunction with your physician and can provide the lower-limb orthotics you need once you have been referred to us. Whether you are dealing with a sprain, recovering after surgery, or have another physical challenge, the various lower-limb orthotics that we have to offer can make a difference in your quality of life while you heal and help prevent long-term problems that could occur.

There are three lower-limb orthotics that we commonly provide: FOs, AFOs and KAFOs. FOs stands for foot orthotics and is used to support the biomechanical alignment of the user’s feet. AFO stands for ankle-foot orthosis and is used to support joint alignment when there is muscle weakness involved. KAFO stands for knee-ankle-foot orthosis and is an advanced orthotic that addresses muscle weakness or paralysis of the leg. This orthotic often spans the foot, ankle, and knee to aid the muscles and stabilize the joints. These are just a few of the types of lower-limb orthotics that we offer.

We provide quality lower-limb orthotics that can make a difference in your recovery and your quality of life. We look forward to helping you, so please reach out to us if you have any questions about any of our medical products.
