At Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics, we are a woman-owned business, founded and run by Cynthia Tierney, who has worked in the healthcare industry since 1991. When Tierney decided to continue her career in 2015 by opening Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics, she found immense professional joy and satisfaction in helping people by creating custom orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Recently, Tierney completed the certification process for Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics to become recognized as a woman-owned business in the state of North Carolina . More specifically, Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics is certified as a Historically Underutilized Business by The Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses. This certification will remain in effect for the next four years and can be renewed on an ongoing basis.
To receive certification as a recognized woman-owned business, certain requirements had to be met relating to ownership, day-to-day management, and operational control. One of the main benefits of becoming certified through the HUB Office is that this organization collaborates with local minority, women, and small business owners to offer assistance with identifying contract opportunities through the state and local government. The HUB Office also offers assistance with business development.
At Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics, we are excited about this recent certification and its potential to help us foster our practice’s growth and profitability.
