Our orthotists are happy to work with you and develop a plan of action for resolving your concerns.
In their most basic form, orthotics are designed to provide custom support to the feet, ankles, knees, or even the back. Custom orthotics fit your feet more effectively than over-the-counter arch supports, these devices balance biomechanical inadequacies and are beneficial for those suffering from heel and arch pain, knee problems, ankle issues, and diabetes.
Our orthotists at Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics offer a wide range of both custom and off-the-shelf orthotic solutions to those who turn to us in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area, including Kernersville, North Wilkesboro, Lexington, and Greensboro. These include ankle foot orthoses, knee ankle foot orthoses, knee orthoses, spinal orthoses, diabetic footwear, and CROW walkers. To continually provide our patients with the best care possible, our orthotists and prosthetists receive continuing education and stay on top of the latest developments in orthotic and prosthetic technology.
Know that it takes time to get used to new orthotic devices, so after you come away from our office with a new pair, you need to get used to wearing them gradually. While they may be uncomfortable at first, we suggest wearing them for an hour or two every day and then increasing this amount of time over a period of one to two weeks. We also cannot stress enough the importance of wearing a well-fitted shoe with your orthotics to provide maximum support and benefit.
If you have any questions about our lineup of custom orthotics, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics. Our orthotists are happy to work with you and develop a plan of action for resolving your concerns and helping you get back on your feet!
